I live through oral surgery more than a calendar month ago and I still have nightmares feature the cracks late inside my skull as my tooth doctor struggled to get out a huge molar . Again . And again . And again . That ’s why these nipper ’ before and after portraits make me cringe — but also laugh .
They absolutely summarize the repulsion that is to go through unwritten surgery . It will reduce anyone , from child to Chuck Norris , to a miserable slice of superfluous and lamentable human meat bag .
The picture were taken by photographer Andy Brown “ during an Arts Council funded documentation of the Children ’s Hospital in Sheffield . ”

These portraits show children right away before and after a surgical procedure to have tooth removed . They were need to pose for the 2nd photograph even though they were recovering from worldwide anesthetic .
