Plus, the Takedown scaling event is live
Gearbox has been hard at work behind the scenes trying to get their scaling event off the ground forBorderlands 3, and it’s actually happening this time: no more delays or bugs.
It kicked off last night and will run until 9AM PT on January 30, allowing players to enter the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite event with any size party, with concessions for scaling. In other words, if you go in solo, it’ll operate like a solo dungeon. The same goes for pairs, and so on. Previously, it was just scaled to parties of four.
The studio also reminds us that the Farming Frenzy event is still happening, while ushering in some bug fixes. The big news? Gearbox will be adjustingtheHandsome JackpotDLCbosses to provide more of a challenge. More big news:anointed bonusesare increasing for everyone but Amara. Moze, Zane and FL4K are all getting anointed buffs, which you may check out in the patch notes below.
Once the event is over, hopefully we’ll get more news regarding the next step forBorderlands. There’s still plenty of DLC on the way, and if Gearbox’s reputation is anything to go by: years more.

Developer note – We noticed that the bosses in the Handsome Jackpot weren’t providing players with a satisfying challenge. We’ll be monitoring these bosses and make adjustments as needed in the future.
