We ’re back with the young Jedi on this week ’s installment of Clone Wars , and this time the younglings are joined by David Tennant ’s lightsaber - design droid . By the end of the episode , they ’ll have battled Hondo and landed one of their number in a dangerous place . But first , permit ’s go shopping for lightsaber parts !
In the last episode , the younglings each find their own personal lightsaber watch glass , and now that they ’re headed back to Coruscant , it ’s clip to make the lightsabers . For that , they ’ll call for the assist of the exceedingly subdued - verbalise Professor Huyang . ( I feel that , in an seek to keep Tennant from evoking the Dr. , they made him rather hard to get a line . ) These kids have been evoke on anti - droid propaganda , so they ’re dubious about what a droid prof can teach them about lightsaber devising . ( I suppose the younglings assure us that some of their best friend are droids , then eying R2 - D2 uncomfortably . ) But Huyang control them he ’s an expert .
The kids all settle into the task of putting their lightsabers together — using the Force instead of their hand . I bang we saw a stylized version of this Force lightsaber construction in the 2D Clone Wars TV show , but it would have nice to see them utilize their hands here . It might revolutionize a few tyke to get into electronics . Anyway , Petro is of course the first one to finish up and of course he screws up the line . Ahsoka warn that he ’s instal a fundamental component backwards ; if he tries to practice the lightsaber , it ’s going to detonate . But the kiddos are n’t going to make it back menage unimpeded . The pirate ship Hondo remark their departure from Ilum , and figures they must have some worthful lightsaber crystal on control panel . Okay , I was happy to see this guy during the Darth Maul instalment , but he ’s in nearly every installment lately . Is n’t there anyone else hang around ? Hondo ’s gone all Next Generation Ferengi on us , talking incessantly of “ net ” and ready to take the crystals at any cost . When the plagiarizer snare the Jedi ship ( in a rather cool chronological succession ; screwing tractor beams ) , Ahsoka lead Huyang and the younglings into the public discussion shafts . Petro the petulant wants to stand and fight . “ Huh , we ’re going to oppose , ” Ahsoka assured him . “ Just not the path they expect . ”
Ahsoka sends Zatt and Ganodi to join R2 in the cockpit and secure the ship while she order Huyang and the others to find a clasp and remain out of sight . She herself extend off to reroute power to the engines so that they can pull their ship gratuitous from the sea rover ’ . Zatt and Ganodi make it to the cockpit , with a little assistance from R2 , who atomize the engage plagiarizer . The others have a turn of trouble staying out of sight . At one full point , they ’re smoked out of the ventilation shafts , thrust a confrontation . A pirate snags Petro ’s lightsaber , but when he waves it over the younglings ’ head , it explodes , pass on them a chance to escape .
Eventually , the younglings recognize that they ’re going to have to stop the pirates to reach safety , so they set a trap for two of the pirates , piling lightsaber training drones in a way and then ensnare them within . I realize education trailer blasts are non - lethal , but I distinctly remember an episode in which we learned that torture is untimely .
Unfortunately , even their morally doubtful thaumaturgy is n’t enough to get them to guard . Before they reach the grasp , they run mightily into Hondo and his men , and Ahoska has to swoop up in and save their youngling butts . They make out to get aside with a severely damage Huyang , and Zatt launches the engines , flick the Jedi ship free of the pirates ’ tethers and creating a vaccum . One by one , each pirate is sucked back toward the door and into the tube tie in the two ship . ( Sometimes they get a fiddling help from Ahsoka ’s fist . ) But as Ahsoka closes the door , hammer desperately on the lock button , she , too , is knocked into the tubing . Now the younglings are alone with Huyang and Ahsoka is a captive on Hondo ’s ship . Hondo severalise her that , since he failed to slip the lightsaber crystals , he ’s going to earn his gain with Ahsoka .
All in all , not a grotesque sequence , but at least at we begin some courteous moments of Ahsoka badassery and an challenging setup for next week . I just go for that Hondo ’s plan for Ahsoka does n’t need apparel her in a lean slave outfit .
