A newFortniteChapter 6 Season 2 teaser may have just revealed the return of the Mammoth Pistol from Chapter 4 Season 3—this time with a brand–new golden look.
Epic Games’ latest teaser image on X highlights theFortniteChapter 6 Season 2 roster, with Outlaw Midas front and center, holding a solid gold pistol identical in shape to the Mammoth Pistol. While the original Mammoth had an iron frame with wooden details, this version appears entirely gold, matching the original’s design, parts, and shape, perfectly.
Is the Mammoth Pistol coming back toFortnite?
This golden Mammoth-like pistol could mean one of two things:
If this new pistol is indeed a Mythic version of the Mammoth, it could be even deadlier than the already overpowered original. When the Mammoth Pistol was first introduced in July 2023, many players considered it superior to other heavy pistols like the Deagle, praising its accuracy and satisfying handling.
One playerin a popular Reddit thread, comparing the Mammoth to the Deagle at the time, wrote: “Mammoth is way better because of it’s [sic] accuracy.” Another one added, “Mammoth pistol is so OP and I love it.”
If a stronger, even more precise version of the Mammoth Pistol is coming, it needs to be Mythic—otherwise, it could completely shake up Fortnite’s weapon balance. Unlike the Suppressed Pistol and Lock-On Pistol—which dominate Chapter 6 Season 1 with high DPS, large magazines, and rapid-fire rates—the Mammoth Pistol is built different, featuring a single-shot magazine capable of one-shot eliminations. If a Mythic version enhances its damage, accuracy, or reload speed, it could drastically shift Fortnite’s pistol gameplay in Chapter 6 Season 2.
Whatever this new pistol ends up being, Epic will reveal all details and players will be able to use it whenChapter 6, Season 2 releases on Feb. 21.
