What are FFXIV Divine Twine and Divine Shine used for?

As ofFFXIVPatch 6.5, Item Level 660 is the highest level formostgear pieces. The base Credendum set starts at Item Level 650, but you’re able to upgrade those pieces to the 660 cap with Divine Shine or Divine Twine. The Twine is for left-side equipment, while the Shine is for accessories on the right.

When first released, upgrade materials only come from Savage Raids. After updates,FFXIVmakes Twine and Shine available through Alliance Raids and Hunts. So, in total, you’ve got three ways to get Divine Shine and Divine Twine.

While it’s a time sink, Hunts remain the easiest way to get Divine Twine and Divine Shine inFFXIV. You can pick up solo Hunt assignments in various city-states or jump on a Hunt train. I recommend seeking out one of the popular Hunt Discords for your respective Data Center.

Divine Shine and Divine Twine drops from Savage

Divine Twine and Shine upgrades drop straight from Anabaseios Savage raids, too. That means they require no trading for the materials. The second floor of Anabaseios drops Divine Shine, while Anabaseios’ third Savage raid drops Divine Twine. Just remember, there’s only one per clear and you’ll need the winning roll.

If you don’t win the loot, you can also save the Anabaseios Mythos tokens. After saving a few, you can trade them for Twine or Shine.
