Resident Evil 7, man. I just finished writing up how I felt about the E3 demo (the same one you can download on your PlayStation 4 right now, but in VR), but it won’t be up until tomorrow. I’ll ruin the surprise just a bit and tell you that I’m really excited both by this new direction Capcom is going in, and all of the theories and speculations that are already appearing.

Zisforzombies on Reddithas superhuman memory and/or eyes and has made an interesting discovery: at one point in the demo, you see a short label screen when watching a videotape. This number coincides with the SLUS (think of this as a catalog number) ofResident Evil: Director’s Cut, which was a re-mixed version of the original that came with a demo forResident Evil 2. That might sound a little confusing, so here:

If zisforzombies’s logic is to be followed, perhapsResident Evil 7will include a demo of some sort forResident Evil 2 Remake. I know that it sounds a little tenuous, but those are some incredibly specific numbers. There’s always the chance that it was someone at Capcom making a cute reference, but this new game is sparking so many discussion that maybe this is another part of the puzzle?
