King CharlesandQueen Camilla’scoronationis slated to bea weekend-long celebration.
The royal couple will be officially crowned in a ceremony held on May 6 atWestminster Abbey. Though the actual ceremony, whichwill be televised and live-streamed across various networks, is only expected to last about an hour,the festivities will take place over a series of days.
The fun continues the following day as a Coronation Concert will be held in Charles and Camilla’s honor. The event will includea star-studded guest list of performers, including Lionel Richie andKaty Perry, as well as an audience of 20,000, including members of the public and select guests.

King Charles and Queen Camilla begin King’s Procession
Before the official coronation ceremony,Charles and Camilla will make their way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbeyin the Diamond Jubilee State Coach. It’s unclear what time Charles and Camilla will begin the King’s Procession, though many networks are beginning their coverage at 10 a.m. local time.

The carriage will depart Buckingham Palace through the Centre Gate and proceed down The Mall, passing through Admiralty Arch and south of King Charles I Island, down Whitehall and along Parliament Street before arriving at Westminster Abbey.
11 a.m. local time: King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation ceremony begins
Several royal family members will be in attendance, includingPrince WilliamandKate Middletonas well as their eldest son,Prince George, who will serve as aPage of Honor.Prince Harrywill also be in attendance, though Meghan Markle will remain in California with the couple’s children.

Charles will then makehis Buckingham Palace balcony debut as monarchalongside various members of the royal family. Though it hasn’t been confirmed who will be joining Charles and Camilla on the balcony, it will likely includePrince William,Kate Middletonand their children.

The Coronation Big Lunch takes place
“From a cup of tea with a neighbour to a street party, a Coronation Big Lunch brings the celebrations to your neighbourhood and is a great way to get to know your community a little better,” Buckingham Palace stated in a previous press release about the event.
Royal sistersPrincess BeatriceandPrincess Eugenie, who isexpecting her second childwith her husband Jack Brooksbank, will attend a Big Lunch in Windsor. Meanwhile,Prince EdwardandSophie, theDukeandDuchess of Edinburghwill head to a Big Lunch in Cranleigh, Surrey.Princess Anneand her husband,Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, are expected to attend a community street party in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Volunteers take part in The Big Help Out
Some of the royal family will join in the event as various outings across the U.K.
Prince Edward and Sophie, who is patron of Guide Dogs, are set to take part in a puppy class at the Guide Dogs Training Centre in Reading, while Princess Anne and her husband will join a County Civic Service at Gloucester Cathedral. In addition,Queen Elizabeth’s cousin the Duke of Gloucester and his wife, the Duchess of Gloucester, are set to meet young volunteers at a coronation party at a church in Kensington, central London.
