Whether a fan from the original NES game, or a newcomer who joined the community withBreath of the Wild, the franchise conveys an unbridled sense of adventure and discovery, with age old stories and pristine world design. Although it is rather difficult explaining the story ofThe Legend of Zeldadue to its messy timeline, every game to varying degrees makes references to previous titles, and in turn, has built a compendium of lore and symbols that have become recognizable throughout gaming.

Reddit user edlothian recently uploaded their incredible gaming room toThe Legend of Zeldasubreddit, and it is blowing people away. To borrow their terminology, this is not just a gaming room but a “ZeldaSanctuary,” transporting those who descend the renovated cellar steps straight into Hyrule. The walls of the hallway are composed of ancient-looking grey stonework adorned with Hylian text that runs the length of the corridor and scattered foliage, all of which is illuminated by torchlight. When one actually enters the space, the number of references and details are overwhelming, no space being wasted whatsoever. Music has always played a pivotal role in the franchise, it being a difficult tasklistingThe Legend of Zelda’s best songs. However, in one corner of the room are the note charts of some ofOcarina of Time’s playable songs, raised off the wall and featuring the original N64 button inputs as they appeared back then. Another wall is dedicated simply to the mural of the iconic illustration of the Hero of Winds fromWind Waker, as if it was ripped right out of that game’s introduction.
Naturally, the comments on edlothian’s post are of praise and of jealousy, people wishing they could have that room. Edlothian in the comments links to their Facebook page which features a gallery of the room’s progress, capturing its evolution through the entire development process; white, poster-laden walls to a dungeon entrance. Like another recentgamer who showed off theirFalloutinspired room, the dedication of edlothian is truly commendable. While it may certainly look like it, fortunately, edlothian is not actually in aThe Legend of Zeldagame—with their luck, the moon would be crashing down and they would have to start all over again.
