Riot Games' Phreak has announced today changes that will be coming to Azir on patch 13.5. Azir has been a prominent feature in competition with high success. The goal with the Azir changes in 13.5

Phreak stated in the video the short-term changes to Azir inpatch 13.4did increase the win rate of the mid-laner by 1-2% at the time of writing this article. The aim was to slightly nerf Azir in competitive play with the champion just as prominent as ever. In the LCK, for example, Azir has featured in 59 games and has a54% win rate.

The aim for the larger scale changes to Azir in 13.5 is to balance out Azir being a ‘top 3 mid laner in competitive play and a below 45% mid laner in solo queue’ to paraphrasePhreaks video. The solo queue win rate can be skewed by the champions' mastery. Azir is a very difficult champion to master and it is not recommended for players in the lower divisions.
