Rumors have been swirling that Kojima Productions is making a newSilent Hillgame in collaboration with Konami. While this sounds completely outlandish to some, these rumors have been backed up by a recent Kojima Productions post that had some potential easter eggs that pointed to a newSilent Hillgame. Now Masahiro Ito, a game developer known for working as a monster designer onSilent Hillgames, has also been drumming up excitement about the possibility of a newSilent Hillgame.

On Twitter, Ito tweeted out “Pyramid Head, R.I.P.” with no further explanation. However, hardcoreSilent Hillfans may recall that Ito once said that he would only work on a new game in the series if he didn’t have to usePyramid Heador could kill the character off in the opening. It’s possible that fans are connecting dots that aren’t really there, but it’s also possible that Ito is genuinely teasing a newSilent Hillgame.

Ito’s tweet is especially exciting when one considers the timing of the Kojima ProductionsSilent Hilltease. The proximity of the tweets seems to lend more credibility to the theory that Kojima Productions is in fact producing anewSilent Hillgameof some kind.

Hopefully some clarification comes sooner rather than later. TheKojima Productions teasedid suggest that more information would be coming “next week” so perhaps an official announcement is right around the corner. Of course, fans should keep their expectations in check, as it’s just as likely that these “teases” are just coincidences and that Kojima Productions is working on something completely unrelated toSilent Hill.

Whatever the case may be, we do know that thenext game from Hideo Kojima is supposedly a horror game. So even if the game isn’t aSilent Hilltitle, it could very well be a new IP in the same spirit.

The Hideo KojimaSilent Hillrumors have been swirling for months now with no clarification from either Kojima Productions or Konami. Until either company comments on the matter, it’s likely that the rumors and speculation will intensify. If theKojima Productionstease can be believed, though, it seems fans may get some much-needed answers in just a matter of days.
