Battle Tapu Lele in Pokémon GO with our raid guide.

Tapu Lele is back in Pokémon GO raids from March 31 - April 9. The generation seven legendary follows Tapu Koko, who was in raids earlier late last month.

As well as returning to raids, Tapu Lele will have a its exclusive Charged Attack. Any existing Tapu Lele you have will only be able to learn this move via Elite TM.

The move is “Natures Madness.” It’s a Fairy-type move that hits hard, which will make Tapu Lele more relevant in the Fairy-type category. It’s worth picking up a few Tapu Lele with this move to add to your Pokémon GO collection.

Best Tapu Lele counters in Pokémon GO:

Tapu Lele is a dual Psychic and Fairy-type. That gives it a double resistance to Dragon and Fighting-type Pokémon which can be very useful in raids.

Tapu Lele has a weakness to Ghost, Poison and Steel-type attacks. That gives us a few good Pokémon to choose from.

Here are the best Tapu Lele counters in Pokémon GO:

Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane Necrozma will be great choices for this Raid. Even better is that they aren’t Mega Pokémon, but are still very powerful. That means you’re able to have multiple of them in your Raid team. Following them up with a Mega Gengar would be an excellent choice.

Metagross is a more budget option to take on Tapu Lele in Pokémon GO, having had a Community Day last year and being a fairly common spawn. Chandelure is also a non-legendary that makes a great counter.

Otherwise don’t overlook both Dialga forms. If you want to use Origin Forme Dialga, you will need a second move if your Dialga has Spacial Rend. This is a move that is impossible to re-learn, so don’t TM it away in favour of Iron Head.

Mega Evolutions to get you more Tapu Lele candy in Pokémon GO

Mega Evolutions can help you get more candy and XL candy with every catch. Having a mega level 3 active that boosts candy for Fairy and Psychic-types will give you an extra 2 candy per catch, as well as a 25% bonus to your XL candy chance.

While none of these Mega Pokémon are good Tapu Lele counters, if you’re able to get away with not having a Mega Pokémon in your raid team, you can benefit from that all important extra candy.
