Joseph Morganand Persia White are a perfect match.
The couple met while filming the third season ofThe Vampire Diariesin Atlantaand eventually tied the knot in 2014.
“There was nothing about it that was overwhelming or very huge or fabulous in that way,” White told PEOPLE of theirwedding in Jamaica. “We tried to keep everything really intimate and beautiful and sort of going along with nature.”
During an interview withFox 5 Atlantain August 2023, White opened up about her and Morgan’s secret to a long and healthy marriage in Hollywood.
“We’re really always trying to stay together. I think our industry pulls us apart because of all the travel. We manage to do what we want to do and stay together,” she said. “We’re really dedicated to the relationship. That’s our big secret.”

White has a daughter, Mecca, from a previous relationship. According to herInstagrambio, Mecca has followed in her mom’s footsteps and is an actor and content creator. She also has her own “surf/skate-inspired” clothing line calledWhite Lion.
Mecca, Morgan and White regularly share photos together from their adventures in Hawaii. In 2021, Mecca posted a birthday tribute for Morgan onInstagram, writing, “Happy Birthday to@therealjosephmorganAKA the coolest step dad on da island man 😆🎉🎂☀️we jammin 🎶 🎉🌺 🎁,” alongside a photo of the trio posing in front of the ocean.

After accumulating more than a dozen acting credits to her name, White released an album titledMecca, after her daughter, in 2009. The album features 12 tracks that combine elements of “electronica, trip-hop, blues and prog-rock,“according to her website.
“When I make music I want it to be honest and to be me. I wanted to wait and do it the way I felt it should be in my heart. I’m so grateful to finally be in a place to release my own, honest work,” she wrote in a press release posted on her website.
In August 2023, she released her second album,Love Letters.
“It originated after all the darkness that happened. I think the pandemic changed us all,” White said during an interview withFox 5 Atlanta. “Coming out of that was really special. The songs each represent a different part of [me].”

She is an animal rights activist

White is an animal lover and dedicates much of her time to animal activism. In aninterview with Gregory Mantell, she opened up about the work she’d done with Sea Shepherd, an organization dedicated to oceanic conservation and protecting marine life.
“I loved my pet, my animal … and the reality of the fact that all animals are the same and that it’s just a brutal truth that we sort of cover up,” she said.
White is also a dedicated yogi. In June 2021, she combined her two passions when she jokingly posted avideoabout her new “experimental fitness technique designed for dog lovers,” which showed her two dogs repeatedly interrupting her at-home workout.
